There’s something so nostalgic about summer sessions by the lake — the golden light, the smell of sunscreen and fresh water, and the sound of laughter echoing off the trees. Chase and Adelynn’s session was all of that and more — playful, laid-back, and full of those little moments that make summer feel endless.

We met at the lake on a hot Missouri afternoon, paddle boards in tow, ready for a little adventure. The water shimmered in the sun, and it didn’t take long before we were all laughing, splashing, and soaking it all in. Chase and Adelynn have such an easy chemistry — the kind that feels effortless and genuine — and watching them tease each other, fall off their boards, and just be together made the whole session feel like a memory in the making.

But the real star of the show? Their yellow lab, Doc. He was absolutely living his best life — bounding through the water, shaking off right next to us, and stealing every ounce of attention (and a few kisses) from his humans. I’m pretty sure he thought this whole shoot was planned just for him.

There’s something special about sessions like this — no big production, no forced poses, just two people (and their pup) enjoying the day exactly as they are. These are the moments I love to capture — the real, messy, joy-filled ones that remind you why you fell in love in the first place.
