One of the most overlooked parts of planning an Olympic National Park elopement is where you’ll stay. The park is huge and incredibly diverse, with mountains, rainforests, and wild coastline spread across a massive area. Choosing the right home base can make a big difference in how relaxed and enjoyable your elopement day feels.
For most couples, staying near Port Angeles is the easiest and most convenient option, especially if you want comfortable accommodations, great places to get ready, and easy access to multiple locations inside the park.
If you’re planning to elope in Olympic National Park, staying near Port Angeles is usually the best choice.
Port Angeles sits right along the northern entrance to the park and gives you quick access to some of the most popular areas, including:
It’s also one of the larger towns near the park, which means you’ll have restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and plenty of lodging options nearby.
For eloping couples, this makes things much easier for:
Many couples choose a cozy Airbnb near Port Angeles so they can have a peaceful place to get ready before heading into the park for their ceremony.
Forks is another option for couples planning an Olympic elopement, especially if you want to be closer to places like:
You can absolutely stay in Forks, and there are some cool cabins and rentals in the surrounding woods.
However, the Airbnb options are a bit more limited if you’re looking for places that are both aesthetic and practical for an elopement day — especially if you want space for things like getting ready photos, natural light, and a comfortable atmosphere. Many of the Airbnb options don’t have running water or in-house bathrooms for you to utilize on your elopement day.
Many of the accommodations in Forks are:
There are some really cool cabin rentals if you’re going for a more glamorous or cozy forest vibe, but overall the options are fewer compared to the Port Angeles area.
If you’re hoping for a beautiful space where you can get ready, relax, and have a little breathing room on your wedding day, you’ll often find better options closer to Port Angeles.
There are a few places to stay inside the park itself, which can feel really special if you want to be surrounded by nature the entire time.
Two of the main options include:
Both locations offer historic cabins and rooms with beautiful scenery.
However, it’s worth noting that lodges inside the park are fairly rustic, and for the price, many couples feel they can find more unique, comfortable, or stylish accommodations outside the park.
That’s why many eloping couples choose to stay just outside the park near Port Angeles, where they can find beautiful Airbnbs, modern cabins, and places that feel a little more special for their wedding day.
Because Olympic National Park is so large, one of the best strategies is sometimes splitting your stay between two areas.
For example:
Day 1–2: Stay near Port Angeles – better for earlier on in your trip so that you can have amenities for getting ready on your elopement day
Day 3–4: Stay closer to the coast or rainforest – better for later in your trip when the logistics of getting ready and feeling fresh aren’t as important
This way you can explore more of the park without spending hours driving each day.
One of my favorite parts of helping couples plan their Olympic National Park elopements is recommending beautiful places to stay. The right Airbnb or lodge can completely shape the vibe of your wedding day — especially if you’re planning to get ready there, have a slow morning together, or celebrate with a cozy dinner afterward.
When choosing a place to stay, I usually recommend looking for spots that have:

If you’re not sure where to stay, I’m always happy to help couples find lodging that fits their vibe and their elopement plans.
Olympic National Park is one of the most magical places in the country to elope. Between the mossy rainforests, glacier-carved mountains, and rugged beaches, it truly feels like stepping into another world.
Choosing the right place to stay helps create space for the slow, meaningful moments that make elopements so special — quiet mornings in a cabin, getting ready together, and heading into the forest or mountains knowing your day is about to begin.
And honestly, those peaceful moments before the adventure are often the ones couples remember the most.
