Farm Family Session in Missouri

There’s something so special about documenting families exactly as they are in this season of life — messy, joyful, playful, and full of love. Spending the evening with Malery, Anthony, and their three little ones (with one more on the way!) on their Missouri farm felt like stepping into the sweetest kind of chaos.

We started the session planting flowers together in a wheelbarrow, which quickly caught the attention of the farm’s chickens. Naturally, the kids abandoned the flowers to chase chickens, play tag with each other and mom + dad, and simply be kids. Those are always my favorite moments to capture — the real ones. The laughter, the running barefoot through the grass, the tiny hands reaching for mom and dad.

Of course, we paused for a few “everyone look at the camera” portraits for grandma’s fridge before jumping right back into the evening. Mom grabbed ice cream from inside while the kids climbed all over the lawn mower with dad, and we ended the night piled into the bed of their truck eating ice cream together as the sun went down.

It was the kind of session I love most — very little posing, lots of movement, and documenting a family exactly as they are right now. Sweet, genuine, and full of life.
