As my younger sister approached the end of her senior year and my older sister freshly returned from her deployment with the Army, the three of us “Howard Sisters” decided that we should take a sister trip now or never. This was to our younger brother’s dislike, haha. That’s okay, though, we needed some girl time to ourselves. After booking our flights and hotel through Expedia, we flew all the way to Honolulu, Hawaii from Kansas City, Missouri.
The island was beautiful! A bit more tourist-y than I had imagined, but beautiful nonetheless. We spent 3 days relaxing at the beach drinking pina-coladas, exploring coral reefs, seeing the big waves at North Shore, and soaking in God’s beauty.
Also within those 3 days, we were asked about 7 times what country we were from and if we spoke English! We thought this was so funny as we were all raised in the midwest. Sorry, but we are about as redneck American as you can get!
Our last night on the island, we decided to watch the sunset on the beach. While we were there, my youngest sister asked if I could snap a few fun senior portraits for her to which I went full-on photoshoot mode with both of my sisters.
Most people say that we all look exactly alike. I guess I can see where they are coming from. 😉 Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and all!
Can’t forget about the “Too Cool For You” poses!
As the darkness neared, we thought it would be cool to take some silhouettes and sunset shots. A scenic photographer even came and joined in on the fun!
Our Hawaii sister adventure was far too short, but I am thankful for the suntans, memories, and abounding love for my siblings and God’s beauty unfolded in His creation.
