The story behind Grace and Caleb’s classy Oklahoma wedding is ironically unique. Though they grew up in the same state only a couple of hours away from each other, they first met while serving in different Christian ministries overseas in the summer of 2022. Since then, their love and commitment for one another grew, and Caleb asked for Grace’s hand in marriage that winter. Together, Caleb’s laid back personality matched with Grace’s class and elegance combine to make one great vessel for God’s glory.
Together, the couple decided to get married in their home state at Caleb’s home church, Southwood Baptist Church. Grace’s personality was very present in her classy wedding aesthetic, from the colors, to her final look, all the way to even the smallest decorations. She chose the color palette of burnt orange, marigold/saffron, rosy brown, and taupe. Along with these warm colors were white table cloths and gold accents paired with classy Edison stream lights and florals. With a little help from family, friends, and wedding coordinator, Grace’s vision came to life.
The morning of their wedding day, Grace and Caleb were surrounded by their sweet friends and family, many of whom traveled from Kansas City to attend their wedding. The sweet hours leading up to their ceremony were filled with coffee, laughter, a little bit of makeup, and a whole lot of love.
The women in Grace’s family were vital in the finishing details of her look as mom zipped the dress and the sisters secured the veil. It was so sweet to witness a family of such love, support, and laughter as all of them worked together to present their sister/daughter in all her beauty.
Caleb cleans up nice, too! He chose to wear a black suit with brown dress shoes while his tie, handkerchief, and boutonniere provided the perfect wedding theme accents to complete the look.
Everyone was in awe at Grace’s final look. She chose to wear a simple, silk dress paired with a vintage veil, high heels, and a few touches of bling. What really pulled her whole look together was the simplicity of the dress and accessories paired with her fiery red curls, red lips, and bright blue eyes. Her sharp, beautiful features contrasting with the elegance of a white dress made her the most gorgeous bride I’ve ever seen!
It was important for Grace to be able to have a first look with the man who loved her first. This was such a sweet and sentimental moment that they have to share together. Although I can’t remember her dad shedding many tears, I do remember the look of awe on his face when he first saw Grace in her bridal white.
She also chose to have a bridesmaids reveal for all of the ladies she keeps the closest to her heart. The impact that Grace has on the lives of all of these girls is visible in the emotions and feelings present in these photographs.
One of the best parts about Grace and Caleb’s wedding day was interacting with the wedding party. You can get to know a great deal about a couple through the people they hold closest to them. All of the ladies and gentlemen supporting Grace and Caleb were intentionally sweet, a little goofy, and abounding in love and support for the couple.
The ceremony was held in the sanctuary of the church. It was a beautiful, dim-lit, moving experience for all who attended. My favorite part about the whole ceremony was the Gospel presented in the worship, sermon, and vows. God is before their marriage, and in Him, their marriage holds together.
After a beautiful ceremony, the wedding guests were ushered into the church’s decorated gymnasium for the reception consisting of toasts, speeches, dancing, love, and laughter. I noticed and appreciated Grace and Caleb’s efforts to greet everyone who attended their wedding. They wanted their guests to know how much they are loved and appreciated by them both.
At the end of the night, all of their loved ones formed a rose petal tunnel for the newlyweds’ grand exit. As soon as the last car door closed, a huge thunderstorm rolled in and started down pouring. You know what they say, rain on your wedding day is good luck! 😉
It was such an honor to capture such beautiful, classy Oklahoma wedding day for a couple of whom I can confidently say puts the Lord first in their marriage. I am so happy for Grace and Caleb, and I hope and pray for a fruitful and humble marriage of serving one another first.
